!±8± Fall 2009 Style Must Haves

I'm so excited when the fall season is approaching. The air is fresh and you can be oh-so elegant with your autumn / winter wardrobe! I have a short list of some of the top R / W must-haves that every stylish woman must have in her wardrobe together this autumn. You can exchange and mixing of these pieces for a variety of style options.

The over the knee boots
Replaces the above-knee boot pants on the runway. These are the warmest, the most important thing in the autumn / winter runway, and can be easily translated to the everyday woman's look. There are some hot over the knee boots that are flats and heels. I suggest opting for a flat or not too high heel (no more than 3 in) to keep your look looking stylish versus too over the top. For your stylish, Over the Knee Boot look, pair them with a mini dress and leggings/tights or skinny jeans and a blazer for a few city-chic looks.

The Sweater Dress
This classic, versatile piece is and always will be a fall must have for the stylish woman. There are a variety of fits and cuts of this dress to work for your body type. For an hourglass, opt for a fitted sweater dress to hug your curves. All shapes including apple, boyish, or pear shapes, you can sport a loose yet stylish fit and even play around with sleeve types (kimono, bell, etc - see my blog posting below explaining different sleeve types: http://blog.a-linestyleservices.com/sleeves-for-different-body-types/). This staple piece can be paired with a long necklace, a pair of leggings and your over the knee boot, ankle boots, or pumps. Also, keep in mind any sweater or cardigan long enough can be multifunctional and used as a sweater dress. To do so, pair it with a belt to bring in waistline and create more shape.

The Military Jacket
This jacket oozes edgy style with its structure and prominent neckline. The Military Jacket instantly amps up your casual chic style. Keep it simple by pairing with a fitted tee and skinny jeans. Feel free to play up the edginess look by pairing them with a boyfriend jean or distressed skinny jeans. Another stylish option is pairing the Military Jacket with your Above the Knee Boot, your knit sweater dress, and a pair of leggings for a naughty but nice stylish look.

Cashmere
Cashmere is synonymous with effortless style. Its soft, luxurious feel can be worn as a sweater, cardigan, or scarf. Layering done best is done with a cashmere sweater or cardigan under your blouse or oxford shirts. You should have fun with it and get a vibrant hue for instant color pop. For fall, reds and oranges (complimentary to your skin tone) are great vibrant colors that can play into your wardrobe complimenting browns, tans, cremes, greys, and black.

The Suede Bag
A suede bag adds a warmth to your look that screams fall style. It can compliment your casual look and work with your dressier, more professional attire as well. Be sure to pre-treat your bag and properly store it during the spring/summer months to keep it stylish for years to come.

• Always open the buckles when taking your shoes on and off. You will make life easier for yourself as well as extend the life of the buckles.

And of course, do try to use this footwear for the main purpose for which these were designed, shoes that make a unique fashion statement against the onslaught of many other designer shoes. You are saying that "I am unique, I am me and I am a Swedish Hasbeens fan!"

We can recommend the following shoes to start your journey as a fashion fan:

• Slip in Super High is a tribute to the high-heeled clog of the 70s disco era. It is made from genuine leather with a lime tree wooden sole.

• High Heeled 'Jodhpur' shoes are spring boots made from nu-buck colours in military green, brown and natural leather. Pair this with a pair of fashionable distressed jeans for a casual look in the town.

Leather jackets have gained iconic status. They are generally gray, black or brown in color. Today, the leather jacket is not only outerwear which provides comfort during winters, it has been connected to various subcultures and even complete lifestyles. One of its best uses is the intimidating appearance it offers to the wearer.

A leather jacket can be styled in many different ways and be associated with various lifestyles, professions and people. Leather jackets are a common feature among bikers, people in the army, navy and air force, policemen and outlaws.

The jackets come in many forms and styles like classic, motorcycle, bomber, leather blazer, scooter and racing jackets. Waterproof reversible leather jackets are also available. The waterproof jackets can be used as raincoats

Leather jackets are available in many materials, including buckskin, chamois, calfskin, goatskin, lizard skin, pigskin, ostrich, suede and cowhide.

Leather jackets are generally buttoned or zippered. The number of buttons available may differ. Also, leather jackets are available in hip length and waist length sizes. Leather jackets are also available in trenchcoats. Collarless leather jackets are also available. Leather jackets are available in many colors, though the most famous remain various shades of brown and black.

Leather jackets first gained popularity in the 1950s, when they were worn by two of the movies' most dazzling portrayals of machismo, by Marlon Brando as Johnny Strabler in 'The Wild One' and 'Rebel Without a Cause'. The leather jacket was later worn by other actors, and it became a famous pop icon.

The leather jacket once more won a place of honor when it was donned by Arnold Schwarzenegger in 'The Terminator'. Arnold's character supposedly stole the jacket from a Hell's Angel.

Leather jackets have been used by many other celebrities and in the world of entertainment to show off a level of machismo. Brad Pitt wore it to fall into his role in 'Snatch,' Johnny Depp wore one as 'Donnie Brasco' and Vin Diesel donned one for 'XXX'.

There are two types of leather jackets, fashion and utility. The utility leather jackets offer protection to the wearer, while the fashion leather jackets do not offer as much security as a utility leather jacket would.

Leather jackets come in a number of designs and go through various processes to add a distinct taste to the rugged leather. The leather is sometimes distressed, waxed or embossed to imitate crocodile, alligator or snakeskin. Some leather jackets are fur-trimmed or fringed. Leather jackets are also available in single, double-breasted and simple styles.

Leather has always been associated with extremes. While being used by many as a way of displaying their attitude, it has sometimes been used to display authority and lifestyle.
